As 2009 draws to a close it has been another busy year for Sloane Mallorca which has seen us continue to go from strength to strength.Other than just flying around the Balearics we’ve been travelling as well. Just some of the places Sloane Mallorca visited in 2009: Mainland Spain, Portugal, North Africa (a slight detour on way back from Portugal…..don’t ask!), Italy, Corsica, France, the UK and even all the way up to Loch Ness in Scotland!
Water Familiarisation Course // 25 Jul 2009
Many people fly the Robinson R44 with either Pop-Out floats or Fixed Utility Floats, but they are rarely used “in anger”. On the other hand the question of what to do in the unlikely event of having to land on water does cross most pilots’ minds.This course is designed to give the pilot additional knowledge in case they may one day have to land on water in an emergency.

Sloane Mallorca Road Trip (by Helicopter) // 13 Jan 2009
As Sloane Mallorca customers, we have an exciting new trip for the end of January, which may interest you.Sloane Mallorca has the rare privilege of being invited to Eurocopter Headquarters and Production Facilities in Marseille, in Southern France. Sloane Mallorca also thought we would take the opportunity to visit one or two French chateaus along the way and make a trip out of it.
We’ll leave Son Bonet and fly up through Spain and France spending the first night outside Marseille, landing at a Chateau.

The summer has been hot and busy as always here in Mallorca. We have also been gallivanting around Europe watching cars racing! In July we flew up to Le Mans for the Classic Racing Cup, and then in August we were off to the inaugural European Formula 1 Grand Prix, held in Valencia. The FAA has released an Airworthiness Directive regarding Main Rotor Blade inspections on all Robinson Helicopters. The full Report (2 pages long) can be downloaded as PDF format from our website.All pilots using Robinson Helicopters should now be taught and certified to perform a blade inspection, especially when looking for corrosion and delamination.
